Nick trained and worked as an actor, then went on to direct theatre in his own venue and write TV. His TV credits include Belfry Witches, Eastenders and Doctors for the BBC, Byker Grove for Zenith North and over 30 episodes of London Bridge for Carlton. He has written scripts for computer games, short films, plays and features.
As a director his shorts include Hic, featuring Ewen Macintosh and Tom Hollander, After 8, a devised piece featuring Lorraine Ashbourne and Neil Dudgeon, and Peace and Quiet featuring Annabelle Apsion and Simon Day. His films have appeared in festivals across the world including London, Hamptons and Mill Valley with After 8 winning best drama at New York City Shorts. The films have sold to TV channels including both Canal + and HBO.
In 2008 he directed his play Lifecoach at the Trafalgar Studios, which starred Amy Darcy and Phill Jupitus. During this time Nick appeared on the programme I’d Do Anything on which he judged the comedy task. He is currently adapting Lifecoach for Sam Mendes’ company Neal St and the film is set to shoot in 2012, starring Tom Hollander. Nick is just completing his new short, Swinging, and is working on a new play for 2012.
As an acting coach Nick teaches in drama schools, coaches actors on a one to one basis and runs Core Workshops with Milly Eliis, hosting weekend masterclasses on improvisation, audition technique and screen acting.
